T he old vineyards, ‘viti ad alberello’ (containing head-trained bush vines), grown on red soil typical of Sava’s agricultural land, are a distance of 12 km from the Ionian Sea. They are located in the areas of Agliano, Quadrata, Meschinella and Tarentini, covering a total area of 2.09 hectares. The soil is naturally sub-alkaline, with a good percentage of loam and sand. The subsoil consists of calcarenite that is sometimes marly.
